Look, let's be honest, indie dev Concord has just used the ID@Xbox showcase to drop a brand new trailer for their mystery action-adventure game, Graytail. Alongside this, the studio confirmed that Graytail is locked in for a late 2027 release. It is quite the feat for a tiny two-person team that has been grinding away at the project for roughly four years.

The premise revolves around tracking down a famous female pilot who vanished in the Pacific Ocean. You step into the shoes of a detective suffering from crippling migraines, teaming up with the pilot's daughter to retrace her steps. In terms of combat, the detective relies primarily on a cane, backed up by quirky secondary gear like an umbrella or a Frisbee. You will also hop on a bike to explore a total of five distinct regions, combining weapons and environmental objects to solve puzzles. The newly released trailer puts a heavy spotlight on the charm of its 2.5D presentation, offering the very first glimpse of Chapter 3, which is currently deep in development.

Since its initial reveal, Graytail has managed to rack up 50,000 wishlists on Steam, while its demo pulled off a Very Positive rating sitting comfortably at 98%. Concord plans to use its newly secured funding to overhaul the combat system and pack even more narrative depth and density into the regions. Because of these sweeping changes, the current demo is scheduled to be taken offline in November 2026, with an updated version showcasing the new combat mechanics to be unleashed at a later date.

Graytail is slated to launch in late 2027 for PC via Steam, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox PC, with full support for Xbox Play Anywhere. Ports to other platforms will roll out sequentially down the line, and you can already add the game to your wishlist on both the Steam page and the Xbox Store.
