AYN has dropped actual gameplay footage and detailed specs for its brand new handheld device, the Odin 3 Portal.

AYN rolled out two separate videos for the Odin 3 Portal across August 19th and 20th. For those trying to keep score, the Odin 3 Portal is essentially a larger-screen variant of the Odin 3 that landed last November. It packs a chunkier 9,000mAh battery compared to its sibling, tipping the scales at a slightly heavier 450g.

The footage offers a cheeky peek at the performance of the Dragonwing Q8 processor, built on the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. Over on the front, anti-glare glass keeps nasty fingerprint smudges at bay, ensuring the handheld keeps a pristine look even during marathon gaming sessions.

The Odin 3 Portal comes equipped with whisper-quiet ABXY buttons, swappable stick caps, and shoulder buttons featuring an anti-slip diamond pattern, while the analogue sticks rely on Hall effect tech. The cooling fan supports both a silent mode and a custom mode, letting the user dial in the noise levels as needed.

In the gameplay footage, we spotted titles like Hollow Knight: Silksong, Tomb Raider, and Little Nightmares running on the hardware. That said, performance telemetry like frame rates, RAM usage, power draw, and CPU or GPU temps were noticeably absent from the show. As for colour choices, you get a trio of options: White, Black, and a retro-leaning 16-bit variant boasting dark grey d-pads and two-tone purple buttons.
