The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency (hereinafter KOCCA) wrapped up this year's overseas expansion support programs for broadcasting and gaming in Turkey with their final support for the participants of the 2026 Mobidictum Conference, held in Istanbul, Turkey from October 7 to 8.

Following the hosting of the K-Content IP Biz Week in June, the KOCCA Turkey Business Center supported participation in the 2026 Gaming Istanbul (GIST) in September and the 2026 Mobidictum Conference in October. Nineteen domestic broadcasting and gaming companies took part across the three events, conducting a total of 543 export consultations.

Turkey serves as a crucial geographical bridge connecting Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Capitalising on this strategic location, KOCCA created business opportunities between domestic content enterprises and local firms while exploring possibilities for expansion into adjacent markets such as Europe and the Middle East.

First, the K-Content IP Biz Week ran for three days from June 2 to 4. Sixteen domestic broadcasting and gaming content enterprises participated, including CJ ENM, Wemed, SLL, Ocon, Webzen, and A엔게임즈.

The participating enterprises engaged in a total of 467 export consultations with 79 buyers from two countries, including Turkey and Germany. The consultation value reached 34.15 million dollars (approximately 45.0 billion won, based on an exchange rate of 1,330 won per dollar). Through this, the enterprises discussed diverse cooperation possibilities such as content distribution and co-production.

Furthermore, domestic firms such as Studio S, AK Entertainment, and NW concluded a total of four agreements onsite, including contracts with local businesses, memorandums of understanding (MOUs) related to content export, and non-disclosure agreements (NDAs).

At the 2026 Gaming Istanbul held from September 18 to 20, the agency supported the participation of domestic game developer Soul Games. During the event, 15 business consultations took place.

Gaming Istanbul is an international comprehensive event consisting of game exhibitions, conferences, and networking programmes, which returned this year after being held annually from 2016 through 2024.

Through this participation, the organisations examined local market characteristics centred around B2C exhibitions as well as B2B, while exploring diverse cooperation possibilities beyond game distribution, such as co-production and investment attraction.

Soul Games CEO Eom Tae-doo delivered a presentation at the conference under the theme 'Strategy for Entering the Asian Market Using Korean Game Intellectual Property (IP)', sharing the overseas expansion experiences and cooperation plans of Korean game enterprises with local stakeholders.

The 2026 Mobidictum Conference, held in Istanbul from October 7 to 8, saw support for two domestic game companies, Supercent and GNA Company. The participants conducted 61 consultations targeting overseas buyers from Turkey, the United States, and elsewhere.

Launched in 2022, the Mobidictum Conference is the largest B2B gaming-dedicated event in the Turkey, Europe, and Middle East regions, focused on business consultations and networking. Buyers from various nations such as Germany, the United Kingdom, and the United States have consistently taken part.

At the event, domestic enterprises conducted business consultations with overseas buyers to explore local market entry and collaboration potential. They participated in public and private networking sessions hosted by Laton Ventures, Ludus Ventures, and Aghanim, laying the groundwork for future business endeavors.

While preparing for participation in Gaming Istanbul and the Mobidictum Conference, the KOCCA Turkey Business Center built cooperative relationships with local event organizers and secured a support foundation to create overseas business opportunities for domestic game companies.

Looking ahead, the centre plans to continue supporting business consultations and local networking for domestic game companies wishing to expand into the European and Middle Eastern markets using Turkey as a stronghold. Additionally, building upon the cooperative foundation established in broadcasting and gaming, the support will expand into webtoons, animation, and fashion.

Kwon Oh-tae, head of the Content Export Division at KOCCA, stated, 'Events like the K-Content IP Biz Week and the Mobidictum Conference served as an occasion for domestic content enterprises to explore cooperation opportunities with overseas buyers in Eurasia-centric Turkey and lay stepping stones for global market entry. We will continue to provide unwavering support so that domestic companies can achieve tangible business results through collaboration with local partners.'
