The 'magic-type' hero whose pick rate has skyrocketed alongside Melcure

This week's Meca Ranking chart reflects the undeniable synergy of our recent arrivals. The impact of the consecutive magic-type releases, Yeonhee and Melcure, is substantial. Upon release, Melcure immediately climbed to 3rd place in overall pick rates, clocking in at 45.5%. Yeonhee also saw a massive boost, jumping 15.5 percentage points to surpass Teo and reign supreme as the most picked hero with 64.5%.

What is truly fascinating is Teo’s performance. Without budging an inch, Teo firmly secured 2nd place with a solid 58% pick rate. It is quite a sight to see an attack-type hero holding strong amidst a sea of magic-type units. The secret behind Teo’s popularity in these magic-heavy parties lies in hybrid compositions. Many players are running parties that satisfy the three-magic-type requirement for Melcure’s 'Mana Backflow' debuff while still squeezing in Teo and members of the Old Seven Knights.

In this volatile climate, Nia has seen the most significant surge among existing heroes. Thanks to a passive that grants the entire team a massive buff to effect accuracy, alongside status effects like shock, turn-based buff reduction, and skill cooldown increases, Nia is a powerhouse. These effects are highly valued at the top of the arena, where players are armed with Immortality Rings, resulting in a 16.5 percentage point increase that finally landed Nia on the chart.

Among the Old Seven Knights, the performance of Rosie stands out. Rosie has overtaken Lina and Alice—previously considered the dual pillars of support—to claim the top spot in that category. Reaching an overall pick rate of 23%, Rosie has firmly settled into 8th place. Other Old Seven Knights heroes are climbing fast, sitting right behind Nia in 11th and 12th. While they haven't cracked the top charts yet, their ownership rates among rankers are trending steadily upward.

The narrowing gap between 'Balance Formation' and 'Protection Formation'

In the arena, the Protection Formation continues to see its numbers dwindle. For three consecutive weeks, it has been trading ratio points with the Balance Formation. This week saw a 12 percentage point fluctuation. Meanwhile, the default formation remains a niche choice, utilized by exactly one ranker out of the 200 surveyed, maintaining a steady 0.5% share.

As for pets, the rise of magic-type parties has led to expected outcomes. Yeonji surged by 11 percentage points to knock Irin off the top spot. Irin now sits in 2nd place with a 2 percentage point gap, while Kri has slipped to 3rd after a 4 percentage point decline. Pike, which saw a steeper drop, is faring slightly better than Richel, barely maintaining a double-digit share to hold onto 4th place.

While Richel's usage remains stagnant, there is still room for a comeback. In the aforementioned Teo-Yeonhee hybrid parties, Richel is a solid choice to boost the combined firepower of both units. Though the ceiling might be lower, it is a viable pick for players looking to raise their average damage output.

Best Picks of the Week

The 'Yeonhee-Sylvester' magic composition for long-term engagements

The arena's best picks have been reshuffled following the addition of Melcure. The current meta-favorite relies on a Balance Formation with Vanessa, Nia, and Melcure on the front lines, while Yeonhee and Sylvester act as the primary damage dealers. It is a composition built for longevity, utilizing Sylvester’s lifesteal, Melcure’s mana backflow, and Nia’s cooldown manipulation and buff reduction. Since all pets in this setup are rooted in magic attack power, Yeonji remains the premier choice.

If you own the Old Seven Knight Rosie, swapping out Vanessa is a smart move. While raw firepower might take a slight hit, Rosie’s support drastically improves the team's sustainability. Sylvester survives through lifesteal while Melcure spreads debuffs to tilt the win rate in your favor. The versatility to handle both offensive and defensive decks is the true merit of this setup.

Starting from this week’s Meca Ranking, we are analyzing the parties of top-tier Total War rankers. We begin with the current #1, 'LightJonghwan', and their 5-team lineup. From the 1st to the 5th team, the themes range from magic, defense, and attack to instant death and status effects. Observe how the pets are positioned to match the specific concept of each team.

The first team featuring Melcure also includes the Old Seven Knight Juri. Yeonhee is placed as the primary damage dealer, with the rest of the team providing fire support. Thanks to Melcure, this is a core team that guarantees a win rate even when facing defensive parties.

The fourth team, the instant death party, relies on Chris, Knox, and Rosie. All three can inflict instant death through their default hero effects, while Karin and Alice provide healing support. If you have equipped instant death accessories on all heroes in this party, even their basic attacks become a major threat. It is impressive to see Pike used here as a pet to counter enemy status effects; the composition’s level of refinement is truly worthy of a #1 ranker.

SKRB User Poll

Last week, we asked how many teams users have completed for Total War. The results showed that 41.7% of adventurers have finished all five teams. Given that the standard for a 'completed' team was defined as five 6-star +5 heroes with dual awakened gear, it is astonishing to see so many players hitting that mark.

Following that, 24% completed 3 teams, and 20.8% completed 2. Seeing a near 30% gap between those who finished 4 teams and those who finished 5 suggests that many adventurers reached the conclusion: 'If I’m going to build 4 teams, I might as well finish the whole set.' With 25 heroes required in total, it seems the player base is investing heavily in growth.
