The series that redefined the video game adaptation, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, is officially getting a sequel.

CD Projekt Red broke the news on the 5th via their official social media account. Alongside the announcement, they unveiled a striking poster created by Trigger artist Ichigo Kanno.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is the Netflix anime set in the timeline preceding CD Projekt’s Cyberpunk 2077. It follows the journey of David, who dives into the life of an illegal mercenary, or 'edgerunner', to survive in the city. The show masterfully captured the aesthetic of the cyberpunk universe and integrated actual in-game sound effects, earning massive popularity and numerous accolades at various animation awards.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 will once again immerse us in 'Night City', the heart of Cyberpunk 2077, to explore further tales of these illicit mercenaries. Kai Igarashi, known for directing the sixth episode of the original series, steps up as the chief director for this new project. The series is set to span 10 episodes, focusing on a theme of 'a chronicle of vengeance and salvation'.

Meanwhile, an official release date for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 remains unconfirmed.
