Busan Metropolitan City and the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency are launching the 2025 Game Development AI Transformation (AX) Support Program.

The initiative aims to bolster the development efficiency and competitive edge of local studios by weaving artificial intelligence into the very fabric of game creation. It is specifically tailored to assist indie and small-to-medium studios that often find themselves stretched thin on resources and personnel.

The heart of this program is the strategic integration of AI tools across the entire production pipeline, from initial conceptualization and programming to design and quality assurance. For instance, developers can leverage AI to accelerate prototype creation and scriptwriting, while programming tasks benefit from code optimization and the automation of repetitive chores.

Visual assets, including character designs and environmental backgrounds, can be generated through AI image and video tools. Furthermore, the quality assurance phase sees a boost in efficiency through automated test scenario generation and streamlined inspection processes.

Kim Tae-yeol, President of the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency, stated, "In the current game industry, AI is no longer a futuristic novelty but a survival strategy that demands immediate adoption." He added, "I hope this support program serves as a catalyst for local game companies to implement AI technology directly into their production workflows and take a significant leap forward."
