We are seeing a steady stream of Magic-type heroes hitting the scene, and they are absolutely shaking up the Arena meta. As more adventurers get their hands on the 'Old Seven Knights' heroes, we have seen a significant spike in top-tier players incorporating them into their rosters this week. Let’s dive into the Arena team composition statistics and see who is trending.

The 'Old Seven Knights' trio has officially joined the mainstream meta.

With Magic-type heroes arriving back-to-back, the top three spots in the Arena are now effectively locked down by 'Yeonhee, Teo, and Melkire'. They have held their positions for two consecutive weeks, and Melkire has surged by a massive 7.5 percentage points. With only a 1.5% gap remaining between Melkire and Teo, a shift at the top seems inevitable next week. However, the upcoming update remains the wildcard—new heroes entering the fray could turn everything on its head.

As the meta shifts toward these new recruits, the usage of 'Old Seven Knights' heroes is climbing steadily. Following Rosie’s entry last week, Fina has claimed the 9th spot. Both saw impressive gains of 8.5% and 8% respectively, marking a successful debut on the charts. Juri, the only one of the three outside the top rankings, sits at 21% and 12th place. Given how close she is to Delons in 10th, it is only a matter of time before she breaks into the top tier.

Among the standard Legendary heroes, Nia’s rise is nothing short of aggressive. After hitting 10th last week, Nia has leaped three spots, overtaking some heavy hitters. Nia has even surpassed Eileene—a staple for physical parties—to claim the top spot. Looking at this momentum, it is clear that Magic Attack is the current king of the Arena.

'Balanced Formation' overtakes the top spot

The Protective Formation has finally surrendered the crown to the Balanced Formation. The difference is a mere 1 percentage point, which is practically a dead heat. While physical parties led by Teo still favour the Protective Formation, the current trend for double-dealer magic parties and defensive decks leans heavily toward the Balanced Formation. Given the dominance of magic dealers, we expect the Balanced Formation to extend its lead.

The pet pick rates tell a similar story. Yeonji maintains the top spot in support of magic parties, while Ilin, in second, backs the Teo-led physical teams. Following them are Kree and Spike, who specialise in accuracy and resistance. Lu, sitting in fifth, remains the go-to pet for defensive decks built for the long haul. These numbers offer a clear window into the current Arena landscape.

The 'Magic Backflow' party swaps Vanessa for Rosie

Following the release of Melkire, the meta has remained relatively stable without major disruptions. Consequently, there hasn't been a massive overhaul in the best picks used by top players. However, we are seeing a subtle shift: replacing Vanessa with Rosie. To keep Melkire’s 'Magic Backflow' active, which requires three Magic-type heroes, this swap maintains the synergy while changing the utility.

Vanessa was typically used to reduce enemy defence, boosting the team's raw damage output. Rosie, however, brings more utility to the table, including a double revive, instant death mechanics, and turn-based buff reduction. Furthermore, Rosie boosts the effect application rate for Universal-type heroes in the party by 20%, which significantly increases Nia’s chance to inflict Electrocution. It is a strategic pivot towards longer, more sustained battles.

Total War Picks of the Week

The #1 player in Total War: 'In-ryeok'

The spotlight this week is on the five-party setup used by 'In-ryeok', who finished the season at number one. The lineup consists of a Teo-based physical team, a Magic Backflow magic team, a Karin-revive instant death team, a status-resistance Shane defense team, and a Spike-based status effect team. While many of these are familiar, the inclusion of Karin and Hellenia in certain parties is quite intriguing. The balanced use of all three 'Old Seven Knights' heroes is also a masterclass in roster building.

Let’s take a closer look at the third team: a resurrection party based on Kris and Knox. With Karin in the front and Rosie in the back, both providing revives, this team is nearly impossible to take down in one go. As the battle drags on, Kris, Knox, and Rosie slowly pick off the enemy team with instant death. Since this ignores the opponent's defensive stats, it is theoretically unbeatable. While the Rare hero 'Leo' offers immunity to instant death, countering one specific party out of five is a tall order.

The fourth team featuring Hellenia is also quite unique. While defense teams utilizing Rudy, Luke, and Alice are common, adding Hellenia as a secondary tank is a clever twist. Hellenia restores health to allies every five hits and grants herself immunity to magic damage while drawing aggro. Most importantly, Hellenia can cleanse two debuffs from all allies, effectively neutralizing Melkire’s Magic Backflow. Paired with Spike as a pet, it is clear this team is tailor-made to shut down status-heavy compositions.

Seven Knights Re:BIRTH User Poll

Last week, we surveyed adventurers on their progress in the Tower of Infinity. The results showed that most players are currently between floors 160 and 190. Rumour has it that floor 180 is harder than 190, which might explain the spike in that range. It was also surprising to see a lower percentage in the 190-199 range; it seems many adventurers push straight to 200 once they get close. Best of luck to everyone aiming for that milestone.
