Blizzard’s strategic card game Hearthstone officially launched its new expansion, 'The Lost City of Un'Goro,' on the 9th.

Hearthstone previously dipped its toes into the Un'Goro Crater back in April 2017 with the 'Journey to Un'Goro' expansion. Now, 'The Lost City of Un'Goro' follows the great Tortollan explorer 'Lo' as the explorer assembles an expedition to uncover the secrets of this lost realm. Familiar faces return to the fold, with Elise Starseeker serving as the team’s scout and Umbra, the former leader of the Tortollans, acting as the expedition’s guide.

This expansion introduces a total of 145 new cards, including new narrative cards, map cards, the fresh 'Quicksand' keyword, and the return of the fan-favourite 'Quest' mechanic.

Cards featuring the new 'Quicksand' keyword grant additional effects if the player manages to play a card that shares the same minion type or spell school as the card played in the previous turn. Meanwhile, 'Quests' begin as 1-cost spells in the starting hand; completing their specific requirements during the match unlocks powerful rewards. Every class receives one new Legendary Quest card.

Players can also look forward to 7 narrative cards and 6 map cards. The new narrative cards delve into the history of the adventurers' final foray into the Un'Goro Crater. Map cards offer a chance to discover a card, and if that chosen card is played during the same turn, the player receives one of the remaining cards that were not selected.

To celebrate the launch, an in-game event runs until the 30th. You can join one of three iconic explorers to traverse the Lost City of Un'Goro, complete event quests, and earn a variety of rewards.
