Wuchang had been sitting at number one for two days leading up to its release, and it debuted with a staggering 114,132 concurrent players, peaking at 13th place in daily rankings. It clearly proved that the hunger for a new soulslike experience was real. However, as the user reviews began to trickle in, the feedback turned sour, leaving the game with an 'Overwhelmingly Negative' rating (2,692 participants, 19% positive).

The biggest thorn in the side of players is the optimization. The developer recommends an Intel i7-9700 CPU and a GeForce RTX 2070. Yet, in reality, even those running top-tier rigs with a Ryzen 9800X3D and an RTX 5090 report severe frame drops unless they rely heavily on DLSS. At the recommended specs, users are frequently reporting the game crawling down to 30 or 40 frames per second.

The gameplay itself is proving to be just as divisive. While players seem to appreciate the visual fidelity of the environments and character models, the action feels stiff and lacks any real sense of impact. To make matters worse, the inability to rebind keys as desired is a glaring annoyance. This stands in stark contrast to the reception of 'Black Myth: Wukong', which launched in 2024 to 'Overwhelmingly Positive' acclaim.

Elsewhere on the bestseller charts, 'Killing Floor 3' climbed to second place ahead of its late-night launch on the 24th. Meanwhile, 'Monster Hunter Wilds', which recently kicked off seasonal events and introduced new variants, secured 9th place, though player sentiment hasn't seen a significant bump.

In the top 20 for daily peak concurrent players, the figures have dipped into the 60,000s, with 'Monster Hunter Wilds' coming in 20th with 69,513 players. 'Dead by Daylight' has maintained a top spot for roughly a month since the launch of the Animatronic killer in late June; even as the 9th-anniversary event draws to a close, it is holding steady at over 80,000 players, marking its best performance since its Steam debut.
