The upcoming life simulation title 'Nivalis', set against a neon-drenched cyberpunk backdrop, has just dropped a fresh slice of gameplay footage.

First unveiled back in 2021, Nivalis is currently grinding towards a launch later this year. This latest trailer, crafted for the 'Games Forged in Germany' event on Steam and premiered via IGN, showcases the build currently sitting at alpha 0.2.0.

The footage offers a cheeky peek at various locales, furniture customisation, NPC dialogue trees, item trading, home interactions, boat piloting, train-based city vistas, a 2D world map, and some rather fetching lighting effects.

The titular city of Nivalis might remind you of the Night City from Cyberpunk 2077, but it is a city teetering on the brink of being swallowed by the sea. Down in the narrow alleys, gangs are hunting for organs, and the corporations are likely charging you for the very air you breathe. It is your job to carve out a slice of success in this precarious urban jungle.

However, unlike Cyberpunk 2077, you won't be relying on high-octane gunplay to climb the ladder. Instead, you'll be securing success through slightly more mundane, peaceful ventures. Start by running a humble stall or a noodle shop, then work your way up to owning bars, restaurants, or nightclubs. If you play your cards right, you could eventually become the undisputed kingpin of the Nivalis nightlife scene. Along the way, you can source ingredients, pilot your own boat, or get stuck into some interior design for your flat.

The game boasts a realistic weather simulation and a day-night cycle, ensuring the city feels like a living, breathing entity. You will also have the chance to forge friendships or romantic connections with the diverse cast of characters you meet, listening to their stories and perhaps even finding that special someone amidst the chaos.

'Nivalis' is being developed by ION LANDS and published by 505 Games, with a target release window set for 2025. Rest assured, official Korean subtitles will be supported.
