Out of the four South Korean teams competing in VCT Pacific Stage 2, Gen.G, DRX, and T1 have all punched their tickets to the playoffs during Week 3. Nongshim RedForce also keeps their hopes alive for a spot.

The Stage 2 Alpha group was dubbed the 'group of death,' featuring Stage 1 champions Rex Regum Qeon alongside Korean powerhouses Gen.G, DRX, and Nongshim RedForce. The intensity was clear from the start, with all six teams finishing Week 1 with an identical 1-1 record.

Gen.G and DRX were the ones to bring order to the Alpha group chaos. After pulling ahead in Week 2, both teams secured their playoff spots in Week 3 by sweeping Team Secret and Rex Regum Qeon 2-0, respectively.

Gen.G was the first from the Alpha group to confirm a playoff berth. Facing Team Secret, Gen.G took the first map 'Lotus' 13-3 and followed up with a 13-8 victory on 'Ascent,' reaching three wins. Then, on Saturday the 2nd, DRX met Rex Regum Qeon. The first map, 'Bind,' went into overtime, but DRX managed to clinch back-to-back rounds to seize the momentum. In the second map, DRX's Song 'Flashback' Hyeon-min showcased a masterclass on Jett, racking up double-kills in five rounds and triple-kills in four, leading DRX to a 2-0 victory.

Inspired by the success of fellow Korean teams, Nongshim RedForce stepped up their game. Against Global Esports, Park 'Ivy' Sung-hyeon’s Deadlock dominated the first map on 'Haven' with 21 kills. In the second map, Kim 'BuZz' Mu-bin’s KAY/O and Lee 'Dambi' Hyeok-gyu’s Raze combined for 27 and 21 kills respectively to secure the series. Now sitting at 2-2, Nongshim RedForce can guarantee a playoff spot if they take down Gen.G in Week 4.

Over in the Omega group, T1 stumbled against Talon Esports but still managed to bag a playoff spot.

Last Friday, T1 failed to crack Talon Esports' defensive line in the first map and couldn't find their footing, falling 10-13. The second map on 'Lotus' was equally rough, ending in a 6-13 loss. While it looked like T1 would have to wait until next week to seal their fate, DetonatioN FocusMe’s 2-0 victory over BOOM Esports on the 2nd ensured T1 at least a 4th place finish, guaranteeing their place in the playoffs.
