Pearl Abyss is readying a new story-driven demo just in time for Gamescom.

On the 7th, Pearl Abyss confirmed its attendance at Gamescom 2025, promising a fresh demo. Set to take place in Cologne, Germany, from August 20th to 24th, Gamescom 2025 remains the industry's largest global stage. Pearl Abyss will be presenting Crimson Desert in Hall 6 of the entertainment area.

The new demo focuses on the early-to-mid game questline. The standout feature here is an immersive, large-scale battle that feels uncomfortably close to a real war zone—think artillery whistling overhead, the cacophony of soldiers, the clashing of steel, and a landscape choked with smoke and flames.

Players can dive into these frantic, real-time skirmishes and soak in the narrative through high-quality cutscenes. Key figures such as the protagonist Kliff, the companion Unka, Lord Stefan Lanford of Calpheon, and the traitorous Cassius Morton all make appearances to flesh out a portion of the expansive Crimson Desert lore.

Beyond the carnage, you can wander the landscapes of the Pywell continent. The visual fidelity is a major selling point, featuring dynamic natural lighting that shifts with the time of day, weather effects, and massive terrain features like looming mountain ranges and crags. On the show floor, you will be able to experience Crimson Desert powered by AMD hardware and Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 and G8 gaming monitors.

Following the German event, Pearl Abyss plans to bring this questline demo to PAX WEST in Seattle, running from the 29th through September 1st, to give North American gamers a taste of the action.
