It all started with the free class change ticket celebrating the Miho Swordmaster update, followed immediately by the 'Breezy Coin' event, which handed out even more tickets. Then, with the late August update bringing class balance adjustments, players were gifted a third chance to switch. With the Miho Swordmaster now firmly in the mix, the variables are piling up faster than we can track.

For context, this week’s Meca Ranking data reflects the state of play just before the final class balance adjustment mentioned earlier. This means we should expect another seismic shift in next week’s report. Since these benefits expire on September 22, the 4th week of September will be the final frontier to watch for this transition wave.

Just before this update, the Archer was the clear favourite among the elite, surging by 2.8 percentage points to claim the top spot. Conversely, the Warlock—bracing for a nerf—fell by 3.5 percentage points, sliding into second place. The Miho Swordmaster saw a modest 1.1 percentage point gain but actually slipped one rank. With the top three fighting for breathing room, the competition is turning quite spicy.

Among the legacy classes, the Soul Fighter making it into the top 10 is a notable development. It has been clawing its way up from the bottom, reaching 2.9% this week to nestle between the Force Master and the Summoner. It seems the anticipation surrounding the recent balance adjustments has finally borne fruit.

Combat power rankings and class preferences in the new server 'Ever-changing'

Unlike the veteran servers dealing with these massive shifts, the new server Ever-changing remains surprisingly calm. While the Twinblade and Warlock swapped spots, the top 5 list among the top 200 players remains unchanged. The tight grouping between 2nd and 4th place persists here as well.

However, the class composition among the highest combat power rankers has diversified. The Lyn Blade Dancer has joined the fray, making the list look a bit more colourful. Looking at the top 10 attack power rankers, aside from two Miho Swordmasters, everyone is playing a different class. On the battlefields of Ever-changing, we might soon see all 23 classes represented at once.

Statistics on special options for Mythic tier Guardian Spirits

It has been a while, but the Mythic Guardian Spirit chart is finally seeing some movement. The culprit? The new 4-player dungeon, 'Baekcheong Ice Jade'. As many players are now focused on clearing this content, the preference for PvP-oriented spirits has dipped, while PvE-focused spirits are trending upward. The Great Sage and the Earth Forest King are the respective faces of these trends.

This shift has naturally affected the special options, though not enough to flip the rankings entirely. For the primary special option, 'Intense' dropped by 4 percentage points, while 'Harsh' climbed by 3. Guardian Spirit charts are incredibly sensitive to what the rankers are doing at any given moment. Had we gathered this data during the evening when more players were diving into the new dungeon, the figures would likely look even more dramatic.

The Ancient grade Guardian Spirits also took a direct hit from the new dungeon launch. Poharan saw a sharp 9 percentage point drop, with that share being spread across the other spirits. Interestingly, the PvE powerhouse Jinsoyun only rose by 3 percentage points. It seems the share lost by Poharan was distributed evenly among other leaders, suggesting many rankers entered the dungeon without bothering to swap their Guardian Spirits.

Onmyoji overall attack power #1 'Uang'

It has been a while since we featured an Onmyoji ranker. We caught up with 'Uang', who has surpassed 5 million attack power, to inspect their gear. Based on the specific re-forging, enhancements, and martial arts badges, this appears to be the same player as the Summoner ranker 'Dung-geul' we analyzed recently. It is safe to assume they used a class change ticket to switch to Onmyoji and are currently fine-tuning the build. They have bolstered their combat power by further refining their Reverse King Tome and Mythic gear.

The Reverse King Tome setup is identical to the one used as a Summoner, but the options have been tweaked. By equipping 'Warrior's Inhibition', they have secured PvP defense, damage offset, and a reduction in total damage taken, while 'Penetrating Explosion' provides a massive boost to penetration and PvP penetration. The result is a rock-solid balance between offense and defense.

The martial arts badge setup remains largely the same. By equipping 'Heavenly Demon·Advance' and 'Jinhyun·Repair' simultaneously, they have increased both the damage and rotation speed of their two main skill lines. They are sticking to a philosophy of prioritizing penetration for offense and reduced martial arts damage taken for defense. In terms of re-forging, they have pushed the damage ceiling for 'Twin Dragon Wave·Black Tiger Arrival·Updraft'. If you are considering a switch to Onmyoji, 'Uang's setup is a solid blueprint.

Last week's poll focused on the face of Blade & Soul Revolution: the official community. We asked which board players visit first, and the results seem to correlate quite closely with general traffic.

The 1st place spot went to the always-chaotic Free Board, with 43.1% of players choosing it. The 2nd place spot went to the B&S Channel, where developer notes are usually posted. Given that a frequent topic on the Free Board is 'When is the next developer note coming?', it is clear that everyone is perpetually hungry for update news. 3rd place went to the 'BEST Strategy & Tips' board, where KookminTree serializes content—we clearly have room for improvement there! Finally, the 'Ongoing Events' board took 4th with 5.1%.

The next poll will investigate the perceived difficulty of the new 4-player dungeon, Baekcheong Ice Jade. I have already seen solo clears popping up on the community boards, so progress is moving fast. The information released earlier regarding the final boss, 'Ice Heaven Dragon', made its patterns look quite tricky. I am curious to hear how you all found the difficulty.
