2K has pulled back the curtain at PAX West 2025, detailing the endgame modes and post-launch roadmap for 'Borderlands 4', the latest looter-shooter from the folks at Gearbox Software.

The endgame is crafted to ensure the loot hunt continues long after the credits roll, whisking players away to the planet 'Kairos' for endless gear grinding.

Returning to the fold are weekly challenge missions, an unlockable specialization system, and the fan-favourite ultimate challenge: the 'Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode' (UVHM).

UVHM now features five distinct difficulty tiers. You can climb the ranks by tackling mission challenges to test your builds without needing a full campaign reset. Each rank unlocks a specific set of 'Firmware' gear bonuses, which stack to provide escalating stat buffs.

Meanwhile, the 'Weekly Wildcards' missions will guarantee legendary-tier loot, and the 'Moxxi's Big Encore Boss' weekly event promises extra spoils from a rotating cast of bosses.

Furthermore, the first bounty pack will dive deeper into the narratives of new characters found on 'Kairos', tossing in fresh bosses, gear, vehicles, character skins, and various cosmetics.

Starting this October, the free 'Horrors of Kairos' seasonal event will add new legendary weapons, dynamic weather effects, and cosmetics, alongside the introduction of 'Invincible Bosses' and high-difficulty arenas. These 'Invincible Bosses' drop exclusive legendary items, and the event will coincide with the release of new levels for the Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode.

'Borderlands 4' officially launches on 12th October for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, featuring full Korean subtitles and voice-overs. A Nintendo Switch 2 version is set to follow on 3rd October.
