Gamepia has officially inked a global publishing deal for 'Staffer Retro: Psychic Detective Quest' (hereinafter Staffer Retro), an upcoming supernatural mystery adventure currently in the works at Team Tetrapod.

'Staffer Retro' introduces Verita, a young individual running a retro shop that deals in 'Staffs', as the lead. Through the eyes of Verita, players navigate a world where psychic abilities are just another everyday phenomenon, unravelling the past through various psychic-related incidents.

As the second numbered entry in the series, it keeps the deductive soul of its predecessor while sharpening the edges. Alongside the document-combining deduction system, a fresh 'Retro' mechanic has been added, allowing players' choices to pivot the narrative atmosphere. With six chapters in total, the developers are packing in roughly 30 hours of gameplay—three times the length of the original.

'Staffer Retro: Psychic Detective Quest' is the latest addition to the 'Tetrapod Saga', a narrative-heavy series set in a world where psychic powers are a known phenomenon. The universe has already been expanded through titles like 'Staffer Case', 'Staffer Reborn', and 'Dice Eater'.

You can catch the entire 'Tetrapod Saga' lineup at the Korea Pavilion, supported by KOCCA, during the Tokyo Game Show (TGS) starting Thursday, September 25. The build for Staffer Retro, previously showcased at events like the Busan Indie Connect 2025, will be available for hands-on sessions for TGS attendees.
