The mage Frieren is making her way into Epic Seven.

Smilegate announced on the 29th a collaboration between Epic Seven and the popular anime IP Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. The series, based on the manga of the same name, depicts a world long after the hero's party has defeated the Demon King. It follows the mage Frieren—a former member of that hero's party—on her journey to understand those she meets, offering a glimpse into the diverse lives within the world.

Running until October 16, this collaboration introduces fan-favourite characters Frieren, Fern, and Stark as playable heroes in Epic Seven, complete with a special side story and commemorative events. Notably, Frieren arrives as a limited 5-star Earth-element Mage.

As a limited hero, Frieren boosts ally resources at the start of combat and employs defensive magic to increase the combat readiness of her team when struck. Furthermore, she can strip buffs from all enemies and deal massive damage by piercing through their defense. Her unique buff, 'Defensive Magic', consumes 4 souls when hit to nullify skill-based damage.

Fern, also arriving as a limited hero on October 2, is a 5-star Ice-element Mage who accumulates 'Focus' to enhance her stats and reduce skill cooldowns. Stark, available via login rewards, is a 5-star Fire-element Warrior. His skill damage scales with his max HP, and he can taunt enemies to anchor the team's defense. When his 'Fighting Spirit', gained upon allies taking damage, hits its maximum, he unleashes a potent counter-attack called 'Warrior's Strike'.

Alongside these new arrivals, the limited side story 'Requiem for the Departed' will be available until the 16th. Players can dive into this story to earn a special 'Plump Mimic' pet and four types of collaboration-themed equipment.

Meanwhile, Smilegate is hosting several events throughout the collaboration period, handing out various in-game items and growth materials.
