The ultimate champion of ASL Season 20 is finally set to be crowned.

SOOP will host the grand finale of the 'Google Play ASL Season 20'—the long-running esports league for Blizzard Entertainment’s sci-fi RTS classic, StarCraft: Remastered—on the 26th at 5 PM at the 'DN Colosseum' in Songpa-gu, Seoul.

The ASL has been the only official StarCraft league in Korea for a decade, since its inception in 2016. In the final, we see Jang Yoon-chul (P) clashing with Park Sang-hyun (Z). Jang secured his spot by dismantling Hwang Byung-young 4-1 in the semi-finals, proving exactly why he remains the premier Protoss player. This marks his return to the finals after a 12-season absence since Season 8, leaving fans to wonder if he can finally clear the final hurdle that has eluded him for so long.

Park Sang-hyun, meanwhile, earned his ticket through a nail-biting 4-3 victory over Kim Taek-yong in the semi-finals. It has been 10 seasons since his last final appearance in Season 10, and all eyes are on whether he can exorcise the ghosts of his past loss to Kim Myung-woon and clinch his maiden title.

Looking at their head-to-head record, Park leads 3-1, having swept Jang 3-0 in Season 10, though Jang managed a win in their single-match encounter in Season 14. This showdown is a pride-fuelled battle between Jang, who is desperate to break his 'Zerg-match jinx,' and Park, who has firmly established himself as a force to be reckoned with against Protoss players.

The final will be a best-of-seven series, with each player getting the chance to pick one map. Tickets for the live venue go on sale via Ticketlink on the 23rd (Thursday) at 5 PM on a first-come, first-served basis.

This 'Google Play ASL Season 20' features the global app market 'Google Play' as the title sponsor. SOOP and Google Play are teaming up to offer 'Google Play Points' to both those attending the venue and those watching from home.
