The mini-game service within KakaoTalk, following in the footsteps of Game-byeol and Snack Games, has just received a fresh injection of content.

On the 6th, Kakao updated its 'KakaoTalk Game Play' service to include 'Jordy Puzzle Match', featuring their own IP. Much like the 'for Kakao' titles that once took the world by storm—think Anipang—this service lets you play directly inside the messenger and, naturally, supports competitive leaderboards among friends.

In 'Jordy Puzzle Match', your task is to slide puzzle pieces into place to complete an image within a ticking time limit. You simply tap to move pieces up, down, left, or right. It spans 10 stages, and should you fumble, don't fret; by adding a Talk Channel or sharing the game with a mate, you can keep the session going.

Much like other titles in the Game Play library, success occasionally nets you a reward. You get one free entry a day, but sharing with a friend grants you an extra go, while adding a Talk Channel gives you two more. It’s a clever bit of kit designed to tether these mini-games to Talk Channels, boosting brand exposure and keeping users glued to the platform for just that bit longer.

KakaoTalk Game Play officially launched back on the 20th, showcasing mini-games centered around Jordy, a character from the Niniz IP. Kakao has, of course, experimented with in-app gaming for years, with predecessors like Game-byeol and Snack Games paving the way.
