Netmarble’s 'Solo Leveling: ARISE' is making quite a splash on Steam. The new package version, 'Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE' (hereinafter 'OVERDRIVE'), has surged to the upper echelons of Steam’s global top sellers list even before its official launch, during its early access phase.

While OVERDRIVE is technically a PC and console port of ARISE, it feels more like a fresh take that dials up the action for its new platforms. It ditches the solitary grind, supporting up to four-player co-op—meaning you can finally raid with a squad of four hunters or four Sung Jinwoos. Better yet, the gacha-heavy recruitment system has been replaced with a negotiation mechanic using in-game currency, and weapons can now be crafted and upgraded by gathering materials.

The combat has seen a shake-up, too. Beyond the usual skill-spamming, extreme dodging, and QTEs found in the original ARISE, OVERDRIVE introduces precise parrying and counter-attacks. There is even a new 'Monarch Transformation' system that allows you to trigger a gauge-based shift into the Shadow Monarch.

User reception during the pre-play phase is currently 'Mostly Positive' (1,046 participants, 72% positive). Players are largely praising the shift away from aggressive microtransactions, specifically lauding the new hunter recruitment and item crafting systems. The action and impact feel good, though some are grumbling about clunky targeting, awkward camera angles, and a UI that still smells a bit too much like a mobile port.

Elsewhere, EA Sports FC 26 has climbed to second place, leaning heavily on the crutch of a discount despite recent criticism. Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut grabbed the 6th spot thanks to its first-ever 40% discount, while Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 seems to be basking in the dual glow of a sale and its recent Golden Joystick Award for Game of the Year.

In the charts for peak Concurrent Players, Where Winds Meet has smashed its own record, reaching 251,008 players. Despite an influx of reviews, it continues to maintain a 'Very Positive' rating. Meanwhile, the Enhanced version of GTA 5 sits at 15th with 97,718 players, hot on the heels of the legacy version, likely fueled by the GTA Online event that kicked off on the 20th.
