Nexon announced on the 24th that it has delivered 300 million KRW in operating funds to the Purme Foundation Nexon Children's Rehabilitation Hospital to expand robotic rehabilitation therapy for children with disabilities.

The funds provided by Nexon this year were raised through the 'Nexon Hero' campaign, a user-participatory initiative celebrating the company's 30th anniversary. The money is earmarked for the introduction of 'Walkbot_G,' a gait rehabilitation robot capable of treating patients from early childhood through adolescence. Following the establishment of a 'Robot Rehabilitation Center' on the third floor of the hospital in 2023 with Nexon's backing, the clinical effectiveness of robotic therapy has been well documented.

As the demand for specialized care continues to grow, securing dedicated equipment to provide an intensive treatment environment has become essential. With this latest injection of funds, the hospital will introduce the 'Walkbot_G,' establishing an integrated robotic rehabilitation system that covers all ages, from children with a height of 85cm up to school-age adolescents.

The system provides early gait training, which is known for its high efficacy during critical brain and neurological development stages. By doing so, the hospital aims to enhance recovery prospects for children suffering from gait and motor functional impairments. Furthermore, this move is expected to clear the existing backlog of patients waiting for robotic therapy and improve healthcare accessibility for children with disabilities within the local community.

Since the opening of the Purme Foundation Nexon Children's Rehabilitation Hospital in 2016, Nexon and its foundation have consistently provided annual funding to ensure stable hospital operations. Their support has covered a wide range of initiatives, including mental health treatment for children with developmental disabilities, the activation of occupational and special therapies, the establishment of an integrated reservation system, the creation of an adolescent rehabilitation room, and psychological support for guardians of children with disabilities. To date, the total donation for operating funds has reached 6.4 billion KRW.
