A new character has arrived, and she is all about mastering those upgrade cards.

Smilegate dropped the second chapter of 'Forbidden Catalyst' for Chaos Zero Nightmare (hereafter KZN) on the 4th, introducing a fresh combatant named 'Chizuru' alongside a host of new content. This 'Forbidden Catalyst' serves as the inaugural season for their story-driven seasonal mode, 'Galactic Disaster'.

In chapter two, our protagonists are hot on the heels of 'Kaguya Pharmaceutical' to recover the stolen 'Premonium', leading to a tense showdown with Yuki. The update also debuts 'Great Rift', a ranking mode where you compete based on total damage dealt to bosses. You can earn currency and exclusive cosmetic items based on your performance, while the 'Galactic Disaster' reward shop now stocks 'Omega Code' for awakening your combatants' Ego.

Key story figures 'Chizuru' and 'Itsuku' have joined the roster as a new combatant and partner, respectively. Chizuru is a 5-star Void-attribute Psionic combatant who thrives on her 'Jubakusul' skill to secure upgrade cards. She’s particularly handy, as her 'Twilight Bond' card slashes card usage costs, making combat feel a bit less of a slog. To top it off, a new messenger-style system called 'Unigram' lets you deepen your bonds with combatants, plus a 'Preferred Gift' system has been added, unlocking special events based on your relationship level.

A new permanent store, 'Blackhorn Trading Post', has opened its doors, allowing you to trade 'Chaos Crystals' earned from various modes for growth materials. Better yet, the cost of currency required to level up your combatants and partners has been slashed by 80% to ease the grind, and they are even retroactively compensating players for what they’ve already spent.

Kim Ju-hyeong, head of the business division at Smilegate, noted, "Beyond the new story and content for Galactic Disaster, we are constantly pushing for game-wide improvements. We are especially focused on deepening the bond between players and their characters while finding ways to make progression less of a headache."
