inZOI significantly expanded its in-game freedom through a massive update on the 23rd. The update introduces major content expansions, including crime and business systems, alongside winter-themed events and various quality-of-life improvements.

The most notable addition is the crime system, which allows players to control their Zois as thieves or scammers. Thieves can break into homes, crack safes, and disable CCTV, while scammers can engage in voice phishing or host fraudulent seminars to gain illicit profits. These criminal interactions are unlocked for characters with low assets, high debt, or specific personality traits.

However, criminal acts come with consequences. Citizens may report crimes, and if a player's crime score accumulates, they may be fined or arrested. Thieves who manage to escape remain on the wanted list for a certain period and will be immediately apprehended if they encounter the police. Arrested Zois can pay bail to be released or be held in a detention center while awaiting trial.

During the trial, players can hire a lawyer to reduce their sentence or plead not guilty, with the outcome depending on the lawyer's competence. Strategic use of 'opportunity cards' during the trial can also help reduce the sentence. Trials related to traffic accidents are not included in this version and will be added in a future update.

A business system where players can run their own stores has also been introduced. Players can easily start a business by selecting presets for various types of establishments, such as cafes or restaurants, and can even operate multiple stores simultaneously as a franchise. Employees can be hired from among acquaintances or family members and must be assigned to appropriate roles like the kitchen or the floor based on their abilities.

Successful business management requires detailed control, from setting operating hours to negotiating employee salaries and pricing services. These factors are key to satisfying customers and increasing visitor numbers and revenue.

The behavior patterns of Zois have also become more natural. A multitasking feature has been introduced, allowing them to perform two actions simultaneously, such as eating while talking or watching TV. Additionally, a group behavior system has been implemented, allowing multiple Zois to move or cooperate together. AI responses have also been improved, such as Zois facing each other during conversations.

In addition, baking and beverage-making skills have been added, and florist and theater lots have been added to the city. A large number of winter-themed clothing and construction items have been updated, and vehicle collision motion improvements and optimization work have been carried out. Furthermore, a 'Holiday Festival' featuring winter snacks and limited-edition items will continue until January 31st of next year.
