Smilegate announced on the 26th that they have updated Chapter 3 of the 'Forbidden Catalyst' story, part of the 'Galactic Disaster' seasonal content for Chaos Zero Nightmare. The Galactic Disaster operates on a nine-week cycle, with new stories, combatants, and exclusive content released every three weeks.

In Chapter 3, the conflict between Yuki and Chizuru reaches a new turning point. As the narrative progresses, the true nature of the season’s core theme, the 'Forbidden Catalyst', begins to emerge, weaving together previously introduced characters and lore.

The update also introduces a new seasonal combatant, 'Sereniel', and a seasonal partner, 'Peko'. Sereniel utilizes the exclusive 'Afterglow' buff to deal significant toughness damage. She features a homing laser-based continuous attack that moves from the graveyard to the hand upon a break. Peko enhances synergy by providing an effect that increases attack card damage when a card moves from the graveyard to the hand.

Furthermore, the third lineup of the seasonal supply shop is now open. If you obtain a duplicate after maxing out a 5-star combatant, you will receive a new currency called 'Prismatic Cubes', which can be exchanged for growth items such as combatant memory codes, prism modules, and prism lenses.

Meanwhile, Smilegate is hosting a 'Chaos Zero Nightmare Illustration Contest' on Pixiv with a total prize pool of approximately 19 million KRW. The contest runs until February 8th and features two categories: Collapse Illustration and Fan Art.
