In the PvE corner, the expansion of the Growth Dungeon to 15 stages has certainly caught the eye, while Siege Defense and Advent Expeditions have remained largely static—save for some minor tweaks to high-score compositions. PvP, however, is currently a chaotic battlefield, shifting its meta by the hour. We have compiled all the essential hero setups from January right here.

Growth Dungeon Expansion and the Arrival of 'Baek Gak'

The introduction of the new hero growth system, 'Potential', has thrust the Growth Dungeon back into the spotlight. With the difficulty now pushed to 15 stages, many adventurers have been forced to re-evaluate their go-to teams. Enter Baek Gak, the new specialist who makes these runs significantly smoother. Consequently, the recommended setups for January have finally seen a long-overdue shake-up.

Meanwhile, the Arena, Total War, and Guild War are currently in a state of utter disarray. Meta decks are evolving daily, driven by the relentless experimentation of top-tier rankers. Right now, there is no single 'must-have' composition; instead, we are seeing a cycle of counters rising and falling. Interestingly, the Wukong-based Advent Expedition team has been turning heads. The Arena Lineage: 'Trude - Freya - Wukong - B&B'

Any new hero can become an Arena protagonist!

Has the Arena ever been this chaotic since the launch of Seven Knights Re:BIRTH? Since the arrival of Trude, we have seen the meta baton passed between Freya, Wukong, and Branz & Bransel. However, the release of old Seven Knights heroes like Miho and Gelidus has thrown a massive wrench into the works. Specifically, Miho’s synergy with Wukong has made her an instant meta staple. Now, various Wukong-led hybrids are emerging, with Miho finding her stride in magic-based decks.

I have glossed over many shifts in this summary, of course. From Trude and Kyle attack decks to Freya’s magic setups and the triple-damage dealer core of Branz & Bransel, everything is a tangled mess. Pinpointing a singular 'meta deck' is impossible right now; it is very much a time for testing matchups.

Just when you think a specific setup has taken hold, a party focused on older Seven Knights heroes gains traction, adding to the confusion. If you jump into the Arena now, you will encounter versatile damage-dealer-led decks, magic-defense hybrids featuring Miho and Wukong, and even freeze-defensive comps utilizing Gelidus and Spike.

In short, the current Arena is a chaotic brawl where no single deck reigns supreme. While rankers are searching for a stable meta, it will likely take quite some time. With so many variables—hero combinations, raid gear, and legendary ring synergies—the 'golden ratio' of team building seems elusive for the time being.

The Likely Game Changer: 'Palanus'

As PvP remains in this period of flux, the new scenario event 'Ground Zero: Silence Project' has drawn to a close. It was a fascinating look at the Dark Knights from different dimensions gathering in one place, effectively laying the groundwork for the 'Awakening' system coming later this year.

PvP enthusiasts have been buzzing about the final cutscene, which showcased the fully assembled Dark Knights and, most notably, 'Palanus'. Given her prominence in this event, she is widely expected to be the next hero update.

Many adventurers are already revisiting her original performance metrics. Back in the day, she was widely hailed as a 'true utility hero.' Given the recent trend in Seven Knights Re:BIRTH of packing powerful effects into universal heroes, the anticipation for her arrival is palpable.

If she stays true to her original design, she could bring a toolkit featuring blessings, healing, HP swapping, turn-based buff reduction, piercing damage with guaranteed crits, and even 'marked' damage that ignores dodge—all wrapped in a shield. If she arrives soon, her impact on the PvP meta could be the defining factor of the season.
