Indie developer Team Afternoon has announced that its debut project, the strategy puzzle game 'Can You Trust Me?', is set to launch for free on Steam on February 6, 2026. The game puts you in the shoes of a video editor tasked with turning an utterly incompetent hero into a legendary figure, using your editing prowess to construct a completely fake victory.

Set in a charmingly nostalgic Windows 98-style interface, your job is to craft the perfect 'clean run' for a hero who couldn't clear a dungeon to save their life. By splicing together limited clips of the hero’s actions, your goal is to manifest a flawless victory that never actually happened. Depending on how well you edit, even the most hopeless client can become a world-renowned hero.

You are the personal editor for a useless hero who just can't get the job done. You will need to analyse enemy attack patterns and arrange clips of 'movement', 'melee', 'ranged', and 'defence' on your timeline to engineer an inevitable win. You can even use special effects to turn mundane movements into teleports or transform pathetic pokes into devastating critical hits.

The game challenges you with objectives like 'filling the timeline', 'landing at least two valid hits', or 'taking no damage', which in turn increases your available memory. You’ll find yourself chuckling at the contrast between the hero’s brazen requests in their emails and the glowing headlines of news sites praising them, all while you manipulate footage of them cowering in fear to make them look like a saviour.
