The Korea AI Game Association and Sogang University’s Institute for Future Education signed an industry-academia partnership agreement on the 26th at the university to foster growth in the gaming sector.

The agreement was established to build a cooperative system between educational institutions and the industry, and to strengthen practical education and research collaboration. Both organizations will engage in joint activities to advance game industry technology and enhance educational competitiveness based on mutual cooperation.

Key areas of cooperation include education and development of new technologies in the game industry, exchange of academic and industry information, joint use of research and educational facilities, support for student personnel in the association’s game development and QA tasks, technical mentorship and support from developers for the institute’s project classes, field-based technical training and guest lectures for students, internship and job placement opportunities for outstanding students, and other joint cooperation on government-funded projects.

Through this agreement, students are expected to strengthen their practical skills required in the game industry by gaining real-world experience in game development and quality assurance (QA), collaborating with industry experts, and participating in field-oriented education.

 

A representative from the association stated, "The game industry is a core future content sector where technology and creativity combine, making cooperation between the industry and educational institutions vital," adding, "Through this industry-academia partnership, we plan to continuously expand our model for nurturing talent and fostering research cooperation."

The two institutions plan to proceed with joint research, educational program operations, and industry-linked projects in stages.
