On the 19th, the Nexon Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education to bolster youth coding skills and narrow the digital divide. This partnership aims to expand the reach of the 'MapleStory World Creator School' initiative, which the foundation launched earlier this year. The signing ceremony took place on the 18th at the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education’s southern headquarters, with key figures in attendance including Nexon Foundation Chair Kim Jung-wook, Nexon Korea’s MapleW Group General Director Shin Min-seok, and Gyeonggi Superintendent of Education Lim Tae-hee.

The MapleStory World Creator School is a program designed to foster the next generation of game developers by providing education in text coding and game creation using the MapleStory World platform. The foundation dispatches professional instructors to middle and high schools, running a tiered program that progresses from 'Starter' (basic) to 'Maker' (advanced) and 'Creator' (professional). The curriculum is tailored to match students' ages and skill levels to support their personalized growth.

This year, the program will be integrated with the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education’s 'Gyeonggi Shared School' to expand its presence within the public education system. The Gyeonggi Shared School is a regional platform that collaborates with the local community to support student development. Both the Starter and Maker courses will operate in connection with this platform. Schools interested in the Starter course can apply via Gyeonggi-based education offices starting in April, while details on how students can apply for the Maker course through the Gyeonggi Shared School’s online portal will be released in due course.

Nexon Foundation Chair Kim Jung-wook stated, "The MSW Creator School is a new fusion of the coding education we have previously conducted and specialized game creation career training." He added, "We will continue to expand our partnerships with various regions and institutions to help many students grow into future leaders of the gaming industry."
