Before the 2026 LCK regular season kicks off on April 1st, T1 is making significant changes to its coaching staff. 'kkOma' Kim Jeong-gyun, who returned to lead the team in the 2024 season, is set to take a break.

T1 announced the roster changes for the 2026 LCK regular season via their official channel on March 23rd. The key point is that head coach Kim Jeong-gyun is taking a break. T1 stated, "Before the season began, Coach Kim expressed a desire to take some time off for personal reasons. After long discussions, we have decided to respect his wishes." This change is already reflected in the 2026 LCK regular season roster released by Riot Games on the 23rd.

Coach Kim began his career as a StarCraft 2 and League of Legends player before joining the T1 coaching staff. He subsequently elevated T1 to the ranks of elite League of Legends teams and also served as the head coach for the League of Legends national team at the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games, where he secured a gold medal.

During Kim's hiatus, 'Tom' Im Jae-hyeon will serve as acting head coach. T1 stated, "We ask for the fans' support so that acting coach Im, who has already demonstrated exceptional leadership, can achieve great results. We will spare no support to ensure the players maintain their peak condition." Im previously served as acting head coach during the 2023 season, leading the team to a League of Legends World Championship title.
