New information has been released for the upcoming action title from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, 'Stranger Than Heaven,' which is set in modern Japanese history. The game's setting has been revealed to span from 1915 to 1965.

RGG Studio unveiled new footage and details for 'Stranger Than Heaven' during the 'Xbox Partner Preview' on March 27. The two-minute trailer showcases the gritty Japanese underworld, featuring action that utilizes everything from bare-knuckle brawling to katanas and kitchen knives. The game also highlights period-accurate elements such as omurice and trams, alongside mini-games like arm-wrestling.

Stranger Than Heaven unfolds its story across five different Japanese cities in five distinct eras: 1915, 1929, 1943, 1951, and 1965. Masayoshi Yokoyama, head of RGG Studio, stated, "Covering five cities and five eras is a massive undertaking. We are putting a lot of effort into vividly recreating times and places rarely explored in games. It will be a unique experience you won't find anywhere else."

More specific details will be introduced in a special broadcast on May 7 at 8:00 AM, which will delve deeper into the game's setting, story, and characters. Since the game is set during Japan's colonial era, concerns have been raised regarding its potential release in Korea. The May broadcast is expected to provide a clearer picture of the game's content.

Stranger Than Heaven will be released on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. It is an Xbox Play Anywhere title and will also be included in Game Pass.
