Riot Games is supporting the conservation of 'Uijanggi', ceremonial flags that were presented at the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago. Currently held by the University of Pennsylvania Museum, these pieces will make their domestic debut this December at a special exhibition hosted by the National Palace Museum of Korea.

The project focuses on five ceremonial flags, including the 'Hogi', currently in the collection of the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology. These items were part of the 27 artifacts showcased during Joseon's first official participation in the 1893 Chicago World's Fair. Used in royal processions and military rites during the Joseon Dynasty, they remained in the United States after the fair concluded.

Riot Games is sponsoring this conservation project to ensure that these long-expatriated treasures are preserved and their historical significance is recognized both at home and abroad. Once the restoration is complete, the flags will be unveiled to the public in December at the National Palace Museum of Korea's upcoming exhibition, tentatively titled 'World's Fair'.

Riot Games has been partnering with the Korea Heritage Service since 2012 to support the protection of Korean cultural heritage. The company has collaborated on various projects, including the repatriation of overseas artifacts and domestic conservation efforts. Last year, it became the first domestic company to see its cumulative donations surpass 10 billion KRW.

Beyond repatriation, Riot Games has consistently supported the protection of domestic cultural heritage. They have contributed to seven overseas repatriation missions and, in 2022, supported the conservation of 15 royal 'Nobu' artifacts. In 2024, they also sponsored the reproduction of three calligraphic works from the National Palace Museum of Korea's royal collection.
