While top-tier players were eager to experiment early on, the hype has since fizzled out. Let’s dive into the current meta and the team composition statistics.

'Instant Death Decks' are not quite ready yet

The latest update brought Mist, the Guardian of Heaven, into the fray. Her core mechanic revolves around 'Unremovable Instant Death.' When an enemy is afflicted with the new 'Fear' debuff, Mist’s instant death becomes truly permanent. Furthermore, Fear reduces the target's 'Effect Resistance' to 0%, making them vulnerable to other debuffs as well.

On paper, it sounded like a game-changer, but the actual arena stats tell a more disappointing story. Mist failed to break into the top rankings, and the meta hierarchy remains firmly locked in the order of 'Attack - Defense - Magic - Instant Death.' The latter is still relegated to the role of a backup party in Total War, with its standing unchanged. Simply put, it failed to withstand the sheer firepower of the reigning Attack meta.

The Attack meta continues to tighten its grip, with core heroes dominating pick rates. 'Landgrid' stands alone at the top with a 64.3% pick rate, with other essential attack heroes sweeping the top five spots.

Defense heroes are holding steady between 6th and 12th place. While their pick rates have seen a slight dip, they remain relevant, constantly searching for openings against the offensive juggernauts. Magic deck usage has declined further to 14th place. Outside the top charts, Instant Death heroes follow behind the Magic decks—proving that in a meta defined by brute force, gimmick-heavy parties struggle to survive.

The Rise of 'Balance' and 'Protection' Formations as Attack Decks Soar

As Attack decks continue to dominate, the associated stats have risen in tandem. 'Balance' and 'Protection' formations are maintaining similar ratios. With Yeo-po and Tae-o becoming the standard primary damage dealers, the Balance formation has secured the mid-30% range.

The ongoing 'Attack vs. Defense' rivalry has seen 'Yu' gain further traction. For Attack decks, finding ways to suppress the healing capabilities of Defense decks is essential, making this a necessary choice. These figures are bound to fluctuate depending on the frequency of mirror matches. As for the new pets 'Zeo, Zeb, and Yorang,' players have yet to find a proper use case for them.

The subject of arena research: 'Instant Death Defense Deck'

Even though Mist didn't crack the top charts, a few savvy players are successfully running Instant Death decks. Notably, a player named 'Matsuya' reached 25th place in the 3rd server arena with 6,530 points, proving the composition has some teeth.

The build mimics the typical 'Landgrid'-led Defense deck. It mixes 'Support' and 'Defense' types to trigger 'Palanus' effects, while 'Son-O-Kong' provides both damage and healing. Mist has effectively replaced the traditional spot occupied by 'Gelidus,' bolstering the team's survivability and offensive output.

This party truly shines when facing similar Defense teams. While it cannot guarantee victory through raw power, the frequency of Instant Death attempts increases as the battle drags on. Once one enemy falls, the synergy of the opposing Defense deck crumbles. It is a highly entertaining setup to watch, provided you don't mind relying on a bit of RNG.

The undisputed #1 in Round 11: 'Bit-Jong-Hwan'

We are at the mid-point check for Total War. As top-tier players reach the Legendary rank, they are finalizing their 5-party compositions. Bit-Jong-Hwan has pulled ahead to claim the top spot.

There were no major departures from standard 5-party builds, save for some minor tweaks in formations. However, the 4th party's Instant Death Defense deck saw a change: Mist replaced Kris as the main damage dealer. This shift was mirrored by most top players, who clearly see Mist as a superior upgrade due to her 'unremovable' status.

The 'Instant Death Defense Deck': A hard counter to Defense builds

PvP in SKRB is usually a game of automated variables. However, there is a certain romance to landing a skill at the perfect moment—a dream realized in the real-time arena. CroaTV is currently enjoying the sheer satisfaction of the Instant Death playstyle in this mode.

Since you manually trigger skills, the strategy is simple: use Mist’s skill, wait for the cooldown, and repeat. Managing that downtime is the core of the fight. CroaTV employs Gelidus to freeze enemies, buying time to survive the opponent's onslaught.

If an enemy under Instant Death spends their turn 'Frozen,' they take additional Instant Death damage. Once the cooldown resets, Mist reappears to inflict Fear and trigger the finisher. It’s a surgical operation that relies on 'Fog of Death' to stack Fear, instant death, and turn-based buff reduction.

Seven Knights Re:BIRTH User Poll

In our last poll, we asked about the difficulty of the sudden raids. While the three bosses are similar to previous ones, they are undeniably trickier. Callistra was voted the hardest by 52.4% of participants, followed by 'Astrea' in 2nd and 'Leonid' in 3rd. It seems survival tactics remain the biggest hurdle.
