It’s set for May 22nd at 7:00 PM, with the team collecting player feedback from May 7th at 12:00 PM through May 20th at 7:00 PM. We’ve heard the talk about Unreal Engine 5, but what will it actually look like?

Much of the microsite remains locked, which naturally fuels speculation. I’ve taken a closer look at the available visuals to try and parse what’s coming before the showcase. The first page features the 'Blade & Soul Revolution NEXT' branding set against a mountain range where the sun pierces through layers of clouds. The interplay of light between the peaks and clouds is quite something to behold.

Additionally, the silhouette of a character, presumably Jinsoyun, boasts a significantly more refined character model than what we currently see in the game. It’s a fair bet that this is our first real look at the 'Unreal Engine 5' upgrade promised in previous developer notes.

Hold your horses, though; while the sword-wielding silhouette and attire are suggestive, we can’t definitively say it’s Jinsoyun. There’s a distinct possibility this teases a new sword-using class. Given the April developer note mentioned a 'ranged class utilizing new status effects,' those lightning effects around the blade might hint at a new mechanic. We’ve seen the 'Blade Dancer' emerge as a variant before, so it’s not out of the question, though information remains thin for now.

Scrolling further down, the background detail is clearly a step above the current state of Blade & Soul Revolution. The way light reflects off clouds, the detail in indoor lighting, and the balance between exterior lanterns at dusk and the distant scenery are striking. While these may be polished promotional images, the Unreal Engine 5 upgrade promises to bring the in-game experience much closer to this visual standard.
