Epic Games announced on the 20th that Fortnite has returned to the App Store worldwide. This comeback follows Apple's statement to the US Supreme Court that "regulators around the world are watching this case to determine what commission rate Apple can charge on applicable purchases in large markets outside the US." To celebrate the return of Fortnite, Epic Games is providing the Yeti outfit to players for free.

It is reported that Apple is aware that US federal courts will demand transparency regarding its App Store fee structure. Epic Games' decision is considered to be based on the conviction that if Apple discloses its actual cost structure, governments around the world will not tolerate Apple's unfair commission rates. Epic Games explained that it decided to return Fortnite to the App Store based on this. Epic Games plans to continue to stand against Apple's anti-competitive App Store practices that restrict alternative app stores and payment competition.

Epic Games' move to correct these practices is continuing alongside strengthening regulations worldwide, including in Japan, the EU, and the UK. However, Epic Games believes that Apple is bypassing the intent of these regulations through warning screens, additional fees, and complex requirements, and emphasized that regulators should effectively enforce the law so that developers and consumers around the world can enjoy the benefits of an open and fair mobile app ecosystem.

Meanwhile, Fortnite has not yet returned to the Australian App Store.
