NCsoft has dropped its legal pursuit, both civil and criminal, against the operator of the YouTube channel 'Game Changhyun,' whom they accused of spreading misinformation regarding the game 'AION 2' back in December last year. The company cited the YouTuber's acknowledgment of wrongdoing and promise to prevent recurrence as reasons for their leniency.

At the time of the initial complaint in December, NCsoft alleged that 'Game Changhyun' had repeatedly and persistently published false information about 'AION 2.' Key accusations included claims such as 'only non-paying users are being punished,' 'they're selling macros,' and 'an NCsoft official is a workroom owner.' NCsoft contended that these baseless claims negatively impacted the game's service and caused psychological distress to individual developers. Furthermore, they deemed the damage to users caused by the spread of misinformation to be significant, leading to their decision to take legal action.

And now, the lawsuit against 'Game Changhyun' has been withdrawn. An NCsoft representative stated, "Following our legal action, the YouTuber acknowledged their mistakes and repeatedly expressed their apologies. Considering their recognition of the seriousness of the matter, deep remorse, and commitment to preventing future incidents, we have decided to show leniency."

NCsoft further declared its unwavering commitment to protecting its users, intellectual property, shareholders, and employees by continuing to take principled and proactive measures against the spread of false information, malicious slander, and abusive language. They also emphasised their dedication to listening to feedback on their corporate activities and services, fostering communication, and relentlessly striving to deliver better games.

Meanwhile, NCsoft's legal action against YouTuber 'Youngraegi,' initiated in April this year on charges including defamation and obstruction of business,remains active.
