Netmarble has rolled out a fresh update for The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, introducing the new hero 'Merlin' and the 14th act of its main story.

Merlin, a member of the Seven Deadly Sins bearing the 'Gluttony' sin, is depicted as someone with boundless knowledge who ceaselessly pursues truth. In-game, she wields Tomes, Wands, and Staves, with each weapon type dictating a distinct combat style.

When equipped with a Tome, she shines as a main damage dealer, leveraging the 'Ice Scar' effect, which significantly boosts her Tag Skill's power when fully stacked.

Sporting a Wand, she transforms into an attacker, maximising electric damage through 'Overload' and 'Vulnerability' effects. Opting for a Staff allows for stable Buster Skill activation via her clone abilities.

To celebrate Merlin's arrival, an event is underway where players can snag her exclusive Tome, 'Divine Item: Ardan's Fame', among other rewards.

The new main story act, 'Trap of Time', delves into the secrets of Taranis, found at the end of an exploration through desert ruins following clues from the Gluttony Tavern. The new region, 'Bound Sanctuary,' is a mysterious ruin veiled by fierce sandstorms, introducing seven new collectible items.

Beyond that, the update brings the new raid dungeon 'Taranis' Holy Ground,' expansions to floors 5-6 of the 'Intertwined Dimension,' new hidden pets, and new crafting recipes. To ease the progression difficulty, players can now obtain Elite Boss rewards without requiring Cube Keys.

Until the 24th, a login event is offering rewards like Special Mastery EXP, Pickup Hero Draw Tickets, and Brilliant Engraving Seals. Players can also collect 100 Star Shards daily for a total of 1,400 over 14 days. Additionally, a Merlin trial event and the 'Conqueror's Path,' where tokens earned from missions can be exchanged for desired rewards, are among the various events running.
