The 2026 LCK MSI Representative Selection Series kicks off on the 6th.

In the first round on the 6th, fifth-placed Dplus KIA will face off against sixth-placed Hanwha Life Esports. Dplus KIA showcased stable performance, rarely faltering against lower-ranked teams, with a regular season record of 11 wins and 7 losses. Hanwha Life Esports, on the other hand, set a new personal best with a five-game winning streak from week 5 up to the first match of round 7, demonstrating their capability to cause upsets against mid-to-upper tier teams. In their three previous encounters in the 2026 LCK Cup and the first two rounds of the regular season, Dplus KIA held a perfect 3-0 record against Hanwha Life Esports.

The winner of the first round will proceed to the second round on the 7th to challenge fourth-placed KT Rolster for the final ticket to Wonju. KT Rolster, after an initial dominant run of 8 consecutive wins at the start of the regular season, saw their momentum wane in the second round, finishing with a 12-6 record and slipping to fourth place. Despite managing to halt Hanwha Life Esports' winning streak in week 7, their performance in the latter half of the season was inconsistent, including losses to teams like Hanwha Life Esports and BNK FearX, who were considered underdogs.

Based solely on the results of the first two regular season rounds, KT Rolster held a significant advantage against Dplus KIA. KT Rolster defeated Dplus KIA 2-0 in the second round of the 2025 regular season and followed up with another 2-1 victory in the tiebreaker. They further solidified this dominance in the 2025 LCK MSI Representative Selection Series first round with a decisive 3-0 sweep, eliminating Dplus KIA. Their two encounters this year also ended in 2-0 wins for KT Rolster, establishing them as a clear nemesis.

However, should Hanwha Life Esports emerge victorious in the first round, they could pose a tricky challenge for KT Rolster. The two teams split their matches 1-1 in the first two regular season rounds. Notably, in week 5, the start of the second round, KT Rolster suffered a crushing 0-2 defeat, falling victim to Hanwha Life Esports' surging form.

The one team that prevails in the LCK MSI Representative Selection Series will advance to the fourth round on the 13th, held at the Wonju DB Promy Arena in Gangwon Province. There, they will face Gen.G, who secured third place in the regular season. All matches in the 2026 LCK MSI Representative Selection Series are best-of-five.
