Look, let's be honest: the Yakuza series just keeps finding new ways to drag us back in. The latest entry, Stranger than Heaven, officially confirmed its release date for January 15 next year during Summer Game Fest 2026.

Stranger than Heaven is the action-adventure title that first teased us as 'Project Century' back at The Game Awards 2024. Set in 1915, the story follows a young lad named Daito Makoto, who lost his parents and finds himself on a journey from San Francisco to Japan. It has certainly piqued interest, primarily because it promises to explore the origin of the Tojo Clan—the very backbone of the Yakuza series.

The latest trailer gives us a proper look at the cast. We are talking about the likes of Yu Shirota, Dean Fujioka, Moeka Hoshi, Tokuma Nishioka, Kelly Torry, Satoshi Fujiwara, and Takeo Otsuka. Furthermore, in what the developer calls a star-studded collaboration, artists including Snoop Dogg, Tupac, and Ado have jumped on board to assist with the soundtrack and motion capture.
