[Meca Ranking] Monster Hunter Wilds Ascendance (hereinafter Ascendance), which was unveiled at Summer Game Fest 2026,has finally had some fresh details shared with the public.

The news broke on the 6th via a developer message posted to their official YouTube channel. For those wondering about the kitchen staff, development is running in parallel with updates for the base game. It is not Yuya Tokuda, the director of the main game, but Takuro Hiraoka who is taking the lead here. Hiraoka-san is a series veteran, having cut his teeth on Portable 3rd, Generations Ultimate, and World: Iceborne.

The stage for this new adventure is the 'Ruins of Ungo', a collection of floating islands that unlock once you've polished off the 7-star quest 'Awakening from a Dream'. You will be able to hop between these islands on your Seikret or use updrafts to glide, alongside a few other new gimmicks that weren't present before.

We also got a look at the new gear, the 'Boost Bracer'. Using it unlocks fresh attacks and combo actions while giving your mobility a significant boost. Hiraoka-san noted that "since monsters become much more formidable once you hit the Master Rank added in the expansion, we wanted to ensure players have the tools to keep the fight engaging."

Finally, the director touched on the roster of monsters. Referencing the previously revealed giant Elder Dragon and Kushala Daora, Hiraoka-san added, "I cannot share too much just yet, but the story of Ascendance is deeply intertwined with Elder Dragons."

Monster Hunter Wilds Ascendance is set to launch in 2027 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Best of luck with the hunt!
