The global indie game festival 'Busan Indie Connect Festival 2026' (BIC 2026)—a collaborative effort between the Busan Metropolitan City, the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency, and the BIC Organizing Committee—has officially secured Google Play as its Executive Sponsor.

Google Play is set to host the 'BIC x Google Play Indie Fest Awards', a special programme for all participants at BIC 2026. On 15 August, ten shortlisted teams will take to the main stage to pitch their titles to both a live voting panel and a group of industry experts. Following this, a total prize pool of 50,000,000 KRW will be awarded to the top performers. Additionally, attendees can look forward to various perks, including giveaways using Google Play Points and exclusive ticket invitations for Google Play VIP members.

Hyun-se Jang, Head of APAC at Google Play, remarked, "We hope our support for developers and users at BIC 2026 will serve to further invigorate the indie game ecosystem."
