Pearl Abyss dropped a fresh update for Red Desert on the 22nd, claiming to bolster both the content roster and general quality-of-life features. The core of this patch focuses on expanding the housing mechanics, introducing new gear, and smoothing out those pesky character friction points.

First off, they have expanded the housing system, allowing you to drag your creative flair into the outdoor areas. You can now clutter your digital lawn with 58 new items—ranging from fountains and wells to streetlamps and carpets—giving you a bit more freedom to play interior (and exterior) designer.

The characters Ungka and Demian have also received a significant boost. They can now utilise the Visione, read memories, and mount the Blackstar—tricks previously reserved exclusively for Cliff. To ensure Cliff doesn't feel left out in the cold, he has been gifted five new exclusive helmets and a piece of armour.

In a bid to make your life easier, they have tweaked the boss fight mechanics. You will no longer need to reconfigure your weapon slots, elemental settings, arrows, or snacks every time you fail—the system now retains your previous loadout, keeping you in the flow of battle. They have also sprinkled in some aesthetic polish, including bespoke loading screens for Ungka and Demian.
