Amidst the recent surge in console prices, the pricing for the Nintendo Switch 2, which first announced a price hike back in May, has been officially confirmed.

Nintendo Korea announced that the console will retail for 758,000 KRW starting September 1. This is an 110,000 KRW increase from the previous 648,000 KRW, marking a roughly 17% hike. Nintendo Korea stated, "Following a review of global business viability in response to changing market conditions, we have decided to adjust the manufacturer's suggested retail price for the console in Korea."

Nintendo had previously announced price hikes for its products and services in May. The base and OLED models of the Nintendo Switch saw their prices increase by 50,000 KRW each, while the Switch Lite went up by 30,000 KRW. Prices for online services have also been increased.

Meanwhile, the industry is seeing a relay of price hikes as various consoles and hardware are affected by semiconductor costs. Xbox is set to raise prices for the Series X/S starting in August, and the PS5 and PS5 Pro saw their domestic prices rise in May. Valve's ambitious 'Steam Machine' has also been criticized for being overpriced relative to its specs, with a price tag of 1,610,000 KRW.
