The 'Nexon' service for Overwatch is set to kick off in earnest with the arrival of Season 4.

Nexon announced on the 7th that domestic PC operations for Overwatch will commence on August 12 alongside the Season 4 update. To sweeten the deal, they are launching a pre-account linking event to ensure a smoother transition for users. Since its debut in 2016, Blizzard’s FPS has enjoyed global acclaim for its diverse cast of characters and content.

Starting August 12, Nexon takes the helm of Overwatch's domestic PC service, promising a business strategy tailored specifically to the Korean market. By working in tight lockstep with Blizzard, Nexon aims to bolster the domestic experience through localized content and optimized PC Bang services.

To ensure players don't lose their progress, Nexon is hosting a pre-account linking period until August 11. Users simply need to log in to the official website with a Nexon account, verify their identity, and link it to their Battle.net account. All existing data—including hard-earned skins, sprays, in-game currency, and progression—will carry over seamlessly. Once the service goes live, you can launch the game not only via the traditional Battle.net launcher but also through Nexon.com and Nexon Plug.

Those who complete the pre-linking process and maintain it until the official launch will be rewarded with a hefty bundle of goodies. Players will receive one 'Nexon Legendary Loot Box' (guaranteeing four legendary skins), the new 'Splash Surfer D.va' legendary skin, and 20 Mythic Prisms. On top of that, Nexon is throwing in a 'Nexon-Mari' profile card, a player icon, five additional legendary loot boxes, and an exclusive player title.
