Nexon announced on the 9th that it has applied the first major update for the Mabinogi summer campaign, 'RE:ACTION'. This update adds depth to character progression by introducing the new Arcana Awakening system and Ogham Words. Furthermore, in response to player feedback, the developer has overhauled dungeon entry mechanics and gear progression structures, while launching a substantial support program to lower the barrier for entry.

First, the new Arcana Awakening system is activated upon completing three guide quests. Players can earn Awakening EXP in Hard Mode Uladh dungeons, Glenn Verna, Crom Bas, and Tech Duinn missions to level up to a maximum of 30. A future second update will expand the level cap to 50. As the Awakening level increases, characters receive additional stats and Arcana-specific effects.

Ogham Words, ancient Irish characters that bind with Arcana, have also been added. These items can be obtained as rewards from major dungeons and are categorized into Elite, Epic, and Master grades based on the number of effects. Players can increase their grade through synthesis and dismantling, and stat rerolling is also possible. Equipping a combination of three specific Ogham Words triggers combo effects that enhance existing skills and adjust their mechanics.

Quality-of-life improvements have also been implemented. The existing 'Near' system has been abolished in favor of a dedicated pass entry system, allowing players to purchase passes directly from NPCs. To reduce the burden of crafting, lower-tier gear cores have been added, and the cost of inheriting stats between identical items has been made free. Additionally, a 'Fever Season' event provides high-performance gear, and 'On-time' events offer rewards during weekends.
