Webzen is rebranding its PC MMORPG, R2, and signaling a fresh start. On the 16th, the studio is rolling out a massive second-half update titled 'The New Journey Part 1-Departure'. This update introduces new systems, growth mechanics, and various content improvements to provide a fresh experience.

The update adds a new Adventure Record system. Adventure Record is a system where players can earn rewards by logging monster kills and item discoveries. By meeting specific criteria, such as defeating monsters or registering items, players earn various items and stat boosts, and receive additional rewards proportional to their total Adventure Record completion rate.

Changes have also been made to trait enhancement skills that strengthen class-specific abilities. The additional activation effects for these skills have been buffed, and new trait enhancement skills have been added to the 'Crush' skill of each class. These new skills can be obtained by collecting five of each type of craftable 'Emblem'. If the total equipment enhancement level is 'Legend' or higher, players can also unlock special effects for these trait enhancement skills.

Along with these changes, the developer is improving the gameplay environment through updates to the mission system and other content. To celebrate the update, various events are being held. Players who complete 30 or more Adventure Record entries will receive an 'Experience Amplification Rune' and two types of special materials, and rewards will be provided based on the number of weekly points earned through missions. Other events, including a play support event, a quiz event, and 'July Luck', are also underway.
