HoYoverse announced on the 3rd that the version 7.0 update, 'The Snow Country Unloved by Gods', is set to arrive on August 12. This update finally unlocks Snezhnaya, the seventh nation of the Teyvat continent, where players will embark on a journey across frozen tundras via train.

Located in the north of Teyvat, Snezhnaya is defined by its brutal cold and relentless blizzards, featuring cities and towns interconnected by railways and Kresnik energy. Players will investigate Snezhnaya Castle, icy plains, and remote villages to progress the story. Completing the new Archon Quest grants up to 560 Primogems, and the update introduces the Snezhnaya Adventure Journal to assist in exploration, along with the Ash-colored Eye, a tool essential for preventing frostbite and solving puzzles.

The new character roster includes Odette, a 5-star Cryo sword user, and Alyosha, a 4-star Electro polearm user. Odette, a member of the Fatui, boosts Starlight reaction damage for the party, while Alyosha, a hunter, provides healing and damage bonuses and can be obtained through the Archon Quest. Alongside them, a new elemental reaction, 'Star Diffusion'—triggered when Anemo meets Cryo—is added to shake up both combat and exploration.

As for new content, a third-person shooting mode is now available, allowing for tactical combat using new firearms and components. The first phase of the wish banner features Odette, Alyosha, and Arlecchino, while the second phase sees the return of Furina and Inepa. Limited-time events like the Train Sprint and shooting competitions offer players a chance to obtain Diona for free, with the Starry Sea World event providing various decorative rewards.
