NetEase Games and its subsidiary developer Everstone Studio are set to launch 'The Treacherous Path to Heaven', the second chapter of the 'Mt. Bulgyeon' expansion for Where Winds Meet, on August 20.

Through the second chapter of Mt. Bulgyeon, players will embark on the 'Revisiting the Peak' campaign and step into the Treacherous Path to Heaven. You will encounter various mountainous terrains that boast dizzying heights, ranging from precarious cliffs and precipices to ancient observatories. Expect a barrage of new challenges, including massive mechanical bosses and intricate labyrinths.

New bosses, the giant scorpion monster 'Sumukgal' and the serpentine 'Wallyongsa', both birthed from the hands of ancient inventors, await your arrival. Success depends on timing your strikes to exploit their brief windows of vulnerability.

The 'Infinite Labyrinth' dungeon also makes its debut. You must manipulate floor panels and destroy security mechanisms to find your way out. Meanwhile, the new 'Deep Valley Campaign' offers a deeper dive into the lore of the Treacherous Path to Heaven. You will infiltrate a valley overtaken by a nefarious blacksmith, team up with a young boy, and repair forgotten waterwheels and mechanical devices to uncover the buried secrets of this new game stage.

Two new martial arts skills are being introduced as well. 'Arrows of Research' fires nine arrows to slow down enemies, while 'Summit of All Things' is a technique that channels healing energy into flying greatswords.

To commemorate the Hungry Ghost Festival, a traditional Chinese holiday, a solo survival mode called 'Joyeongsa' will be introduced, tasking you with escaping a ghost-infested mountain temple. Players can also look forward to 'Flying Swallow Racing', which supports both speed-running and multiplayer competition, and 'Unmanned Peddler', where you can develop trade routes between villages to earn special rewards.

Where Winds Meet is heading to Gamescom 2026. The booth, designed around the in-game 'Gwimun Market', will feature martial arts performances showcasing a blend of human talent and robotics.
