UserJoy is bringing their fantasy strategy RPG, The Legend of Fancy Realm Remake, to PC via Steam on September 10. The title will launch with support for five languages, including Korean, English, Japanese, and both Traditional and Simplified Chinese.

The Legend of Fancy Realm Remake reimagines the 1998 classic strategy RPG for a modern audience, complete with a visual and mechanical overhaul. While the developer preserves the vast fantasy world, tactical combat, and the distinct cast of the original, The Legend of Fancy Realm Remake also digs deeper into character backstories and side content to refresh the experience.

The Steam demo previously garnered significant attention, even landing a spot on the platform's trending free-to-play charts. UserJoy notes that they are currently refining the final build, incorporating feedback from both long-time fans and newcomers who engaged with the demo.

Alongside the release date, the developer pulled back the curtain on the setting: the Panosong continent and the seven factions vying for power. Known as a land blessed by the gods, Panosong was once home to the fae. History tells of a cataclysmic war a millennium ago where five races—fae, humans, beastkin, wingfolk, and amphibians—united against three dark deities, leaving a legacy of complex geopolitical friction that persists to this day.

While the Haspatha Republic currently maintains a fragile peace, the seven factions—Haspatha Republic, Lamis Empire, Naknano, Fiwe, Pacramo, Samik Island, and Araphis—are all maneuvering behind the scenes. Each faction boasts its own unique culture and agenda, forming the backbone of the game's narrative.

The protagonist, Leonard, is less of a classic hero and more of a pragmatist chasing personal gain. A former knight-commander of the Haspatha Republic, Leonard was scapegoated and forced into exile, eventually forming a mercenary group. Through Leonard and his allies, players will navigate the webs of war and conspiracy that threaten the fate of Panosong.

By the September 10 launch, we hope to provide both a hit of nostalgia for veterans and a unique tactical RPG experience for those discovering the series for the first time."
