Netmarble is celebrating the first anniversary of its collectible mobile RPG, 'The King of Fighters AFK', with a special update titled 'Fighters Festa'.

Until September 16, players can participate in events to grow the new KOF '98 version of 'Kyo Kusanagi' up to 10 stars. Players can also receive 500,000 Rubies. The event includes an anniversary attendance log, pick-up and premium summoning boosts, a Ruby-back event, a special shop, and hot-time events.

The KOF 13 version of 'Leona Heidern' is also being introduced. As a mercenary who navigates the battlefield with cold precision, she possesses the [Rush] synergy. A pick-up event for her will run until September 2.

A new 'Treasured Item' content has been added. Athena Asamiya’s Treasured Item is now available, and a re-run pick-up summon for Athena Asamiya will also be held until September 2.

Team Battle has been revamped. The roster size has been expanded from five to seven, and a formation system that grants team-wide effects based on offensive or defensive setups, along with season buffs, has been introduced. Improvements have also been made to the practice mode and Extreme Dojo defensive penalties.

In addition, the maximum stages for major progression content such as Story Stages, Gold Rush, Void Sanctuary, City of Rage, Contradiction Lab, and Influence have been expanded. Starting August 27, the Mini-game Arcade will open, allowing players to enjoy past mini-games and earn rewards.
