Earlier this week, a massive leak occurred regarding GTA 6. A group calling themselves 'Cyberleek' has been distributing gameplay footage daily. In response, Rockstar Games' parent company, Take-Two, has initiated legal action against the leakers.

Take-Two filed a subpoena at the Southern District Court of New York on August 20. The request asks Microsoft and Discord to provide identifying information on the leakers by September 4.

The request to Discord targets all user accounts active in servers related to 'CYBERLEEK', 'CINEMATICROCKSTAR', 'Surfer24k' (including 'cyberleek_west' and 'surwest'), as well as 'Ødyssey.gg', the '! Odyssey' public brand guild (discord.gg/odyssey), and the 'DarkViperAU editors server' (discord.gg/darkviperau). Regarding the last server mentioned, which is associated with GTA 5 streamer Matthew 'Matt' Judge, Matt has clarified that he is not involved in the leaks.

Take-Two has requested that Microsoft provide account IDs, registered emails, IP addresses for registration and recent logins, phone numbers, linked account information, all associated device identifiers, and any GTA or Cyberleek-related content stored in the users' OneDrive accounts.

Take-Two stated, "Copyrighted materials include, but are not limited to, audiovisual content, artwork, images, and dialogue," adding, "The purpose of this DMCA subpoena is to identify the alleged copyright infringers, and we submit this sworn declaration confirming that this information will be used solely for the purpose of protecting Take-Two's rights."

Cyberleek continues to actively leak footage. They claim their actions are intended to criticize Take-Two's 'diskless release' strategies and protect gamer rights. However, as they have been selling memecoins alongside the leaks, some have pointed out that profit-seeking may be their primary objective.

Rockstar Games has not engaged in any activity on official social media since the leak. Meanwhile, a documentary detailing GTA 6 is scheduled to air on Netflix on the 28th, and the broadcast plan remains unchanged despite the leaks.
