MMORPG Black Desert kicked off its Guild League regular season on August 26.

The Guild League is a guild combat system where two guilds face off on a designated battlefield, with the higher-scoring side taking the victory. This regular season runs for six weeks from August 26 through October 7. For much punchier and faster-paced matches, the developer shortened the match time from the previous 20 minutes down to 12 minutes, while also adjusting the victory condition from 1,000 points down to 600 points.

Guild League battles take place across four distinct battlefields: Kelhorn Wasteland, Flamer Hill, Hall of Honor, and Gyeongbokgung Palace (Geunjeongjeon Hall). The guild that claims 1st place in the league receives a special Guild Rigger title, alongside 5,000 Cron Stones, [Party] Immortality: Draught of Harmony, and a massive guild fund of 500 billion silver. Guilds ranking up to 60th place will also secure rewards including guild funds and Cron Stones based on their final standings, and weekly victory rewards will let combatants rake in extra Cron Stones week by week.

Alongside the PvP action, the Black Desert open sea has welcomed a brand new hunting ground called the Rinbaq Colony. Adventurers venturing into this spot will need to deal with the Rinburk guarding the Rinbaq. Booty from this hunting ground includes Rinbaq Horns, Essence of Sunset Coral, and Rinbaq Coral Fragments. To match the expanded maritime content, the developer also introduced new yellow-grade ship equipment dubbed Palasi and Cheongun, which can be equipped on Galleons and Panokseons.

Materials needed to craft this ship gear include Sturdy Coral Supports, Plywood Carved with Fierce Waves, and Adhesive Where Crimson Coral Sleeps, all of which can be gathered by collecting Rinbaq Horns. Furthermore, the developer added a new blackstone called Blackstone of the Sunset Wave, designed for enhancing yellow-grade ship gear. A new shipyard called Cheongsa Island has also opened up in the Land of the Morning Light for crafting new Panokseon equipment, where adventurers can gather necessary materials to craft the Cheongun Panokseon gear.

A scorching hot time event is currently underway to celebrate the maritime content update. Adventurers can pull in 100% bonus sailing and trading EXP compared to before until September 9, while also earning double the crew acquisition EXP when slaying sea monsters.
